The current market value of all of a company's shares outstanding. To calculate market value the following formula is used:

Market Capitalization = Number of outstanding shares X the current price of each share.

 For instance, if a company has 1 million outstanding shares and they are currently trading at $10 per share, the market capitalization is $10 million.
